What griha pravesh is
Griha pravesh is the first formal entry into a finished house. The family carries a kalash and lights the first fire in the kitchen, a priest performs the vastu puja, and only after that do the beds and cupboards arrive. The date is chosen from the year's sait list because the ceremony is meant to happen once, on a day the panchang marks as steady: a fixed nakshatra, a tithi that is not a rikta one, and no combust Jupiter or Venus.
Which months carry the dates
Griha pravesh sait are few, some years only a handful, and they mostly fall in the dry months between Mangsir and Jestha; the monsoon and Chaturmas months are nearly empty. That is also when housing colonies tend to hand over, so the good dates in a busy month fill fast with priests and helpers. If the house is ready in Shrawan, most families do a short entry puja and keep the full ceremony for the next sait.
New house, renovated house, rented house
The full list applies to a newly built house (apurva pravesh). Re-entering a house after major repairs or after living elsewhere for a long time (sapurva and dwandwa pravesh) uses the same dates with a shorter ritual. Renters usually pick any sait in the list and skip the vastu puja; the point is the same, to start in the house on a day already marked good.

No. Griha aramba is the ground-breaking for a new house; griha pravesh is moving into the finished one. The two have separate sait lists and the /sahit page shows both.
What time of day is the ceremony held?
Usually in the morning after sunrise, within the muhurta the priest fixes for that date. The sait list gives the day; the exact hour comes from the day's lagna and the family's preference.
