The Nepali Calendar app adds features that need your phone or an account: reminders on Nepali dates, saved events, offline use and home-screen widgets. The app is free on Android and iOS.
Add a birthday, a shraddha, an anniversary or any custom event on a BS date and the app notifies you on that BS date every year. It does not use the AD date. Repeat rules cover yearly, monthly, weekly (one weekday or several), daily and every N days. The website has no accounts, so it cannot save events or reminders.
Widgets show today's BS date, the tithi and the next holiday on your home screen on Android and iOS. They update without opening the app. There is a lock-screen variant on iOS and a resizable month widget on Android.

The calendar year, holidays, sahit dates and your own events are cached on the phone, so the month calendar and day details open without mobile data or Wi-Fi. The app re-syncs a year only when the server says that year changed.
Add friends by code or QR, share events in a group, and get reminders for friends' birthdays. All sharing settings start off. Nothing is shared until you turn it on.

Yes. Reminders are scheduled with the phone's own notification system and fire whether or not the app is running. On some Android phones, allow notifications and turn off battery optimisation for the app so reminders arrive on time. The app asks for this during first setup.
Sign in with the same account on the new phone and your events, reminders and saved kundali come back. Data added while signed out lives only on that phone.
Yes. The app runs on tablets and iPads at full size, and the month calendar and day details use the extra width. It is the same app, not a separate download.
