How the daily price is set
Gold and silver prices in Nepal are fixed once each working morning by the national association of gold and silver dealers, based on the international price, the rupee–dollar rate and import duty. Jewellers across the country sell at that rate for the day, then add making charges (jyala) and, for jewellery, a wastage amount. The rates here refresh through the day; on Saturdays and public holidays the last working day's rate stays in force.
