Bikram Sambat is Nepal's official calendar, about 56-57 years ahead of the Gregorian (AD) calendar. The new year falls on Baisakh 1, around mid-April.

A Nepali month can have between 29 and 32 days. The exact number of days in Baisakh, Jestha, Ashadh and other Bikram Sambat months may change from one year to another. Katigate therefore uses year-specific Nepali calendar data instead of fixed month lengths.

Panchang is a traditional Hindu and Vedic almanac used to understand the astrological characteristics of a day. A daily Nepali Panchang contains five main elements: tithi, vaar or weekday, nakshatra, yoga and karana.

A tithi is a lunar day calculated from the angular distance between the Moon and the Sun. Each tithi represents a 12-degree change in that distance. A lunar month contains 30 tithis divided between Shukla Paksha, the bright fortnight, and Krishna Paksha, the dark fortnight.

Daily rashifal for all 12 rashi is published every day on the Rashifal page.

You can still select your known rashi manually to read your daily Rashifal. However, an accurate birth time, birth date and birthplace may be needed to calculate your birth rashi and Kundali more precisely according to Vedic astrology.

Sahit, also written as Sait or साइत, refers to auspicious dates and timings selected according to the Nepali Panchang. The Katigate Sahit page provides शुभ साइत information for ceremonies such as Vivah, Bratabandha, Pasni, Griha Pravesh and other important religious or cultural occasions.

Kundali Milan is a Vedic astrology method used to assess marriage compatibility between two birth charts. It commonly uses the Ashtakoot, or eight-koota, matching system to calculate a compatibility score out of 36 based on both individuals’ birth details.
